Genesis 2:7 " And the LORD God  formed man of the dust of the ground ,and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

In the beginning, when God created man, He breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. Air ( breath) given to man gave him life, and breath taken away from man is death. So air has to be important! It gives life , and lack of it causes death.

There is nothing like being out in the fresh air! You feel so energized, full of life!

Deep breathing is very important! It can help relieve headaches , backaches, stomachaches, and sleeplessness. It allows blood pressure to return to normal and releases  natural mood enhancers ( endorphins) into the blood stream. Deep breathing is one of the best techniques for stress relief! ( this info is found in the "Amazing Health Magazine')

So get out in the fresh air , and enjoy the breath God gave you!

The dictionary definition of temperance is: "moderation or self-restraint in action, statement, etc; self control."
So temperance is moderation and self-restraint in action, self-control. It can mean moderation , self-control in appetite, relationships, abstinence from alcohol, or any other addictive habits.

God wants us to be temperant. Galations 5:23 says " meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." He wants us to be temperant, to have self-control . In appetite, temperance means not being a glutton, and not eating the things that are bad for you. In addictive habits, it means abstinence abstaining from the things that harm your body.

Temperance is one of the 8 laws of health , because it important to good health. Your body can't be healthy if you don't practice temperance. Alcohol , gluttony, smoking, etc. are not good for our bodies. So if we are temperant, our bodies will be healthy!

Genesis 1:3,4 says: " Then God said, ' Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good." (NKJV)

God made the sun for a reason. The sun provides light , and light is necessary for life. Plants, animals, and humans all need light. When you are out in the sunlight, you feel much better! Ecclesiastes 11:7 says: " Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun." Sunlight can ease tension, increase immunity to diseases, prevent diseases, improve sleep, increase mental performance, heighten metabolism, relieve arthritic pains, and boost energy levels. ( taken from the Amazing Health Magazine). Our bodies must have sunlight to make vitamin D, the health-promoting vitamin. More than 90 percent of Americans are vitamin D
deficient. ( also taken from the Amazing Health Magazine.)

Sunlight is essential to your health, but SONlight is even more important! 1 John 1:5 says : " God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all." John 8:12 says: "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." Jesus is the best Light for our spiritual well-being!

Happy Thanksgiving! ( will continue 8 laws of health blogs tomorrow)

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! On this Thanksgiving Day, we have so much  to be thankful for! First of all, we woke up this morning! God woke us up so we might have another opportunity to form a relationship with Him! Are you surrounded by family and friends today? That's another reason to be thankful! Even if you don't have anyone to be with this Thanksgiving, God is still with you! We are never alone!

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says: " In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
In everything give thanks! In good times or bad times, give thanks! 1 Corinthians 16:34: " O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever." He is ever merciful to us! He forgives us even though we don't deserve it!

      Are you thankful this Thanksgiving?

Water is of vital importance to our bodies. Our bodies consist of more than 60 percent of water by weight. The brain is about 70 percent water. The lungs are up to 90 percent water! ( these facts are found in the Amazing Health Magazine.)

Approximately 70% of Americans are dehydrated! Wow! We need to drink more water! Your weight can determine how much water you should drink. You should drink half of your body weight in ounces of water every day. So , if you weigh 160 pounds , you should drink at least 80 ounces of water a day, that's 10 - 8 ounce glasses.

Water can help to prevent diseases. It can prevent heart disease, cancer, and other diseases. Water is very important to the body! It needs it to stay healthy! It also can help you lose weight by increasing your metabolism.

In the Bible , Jesus is called the Living Water! He can heal us from spiritual dehydration! John 4:14 says:
" But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst ; but the water that I shall give him be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

Will you drink of the Living Water today?

Exercise is important to good health, and to maintain a healthy weight. Exercise burns calories and  increases strength. Exercise also relieves stress. When i feel stressed out with school, or whatever, i take a break and exercise. It helps to take your mind of what you are stressed about. Take a walk when you feel stressed! It's a great time to get your exercise, and have alone time with God.

Adam and Eve got their exercise by gardening . Genesis 2:15 says: " The Lord God took man and put him in the Garden of Even to work it and take care of it."  Adam did gardening for his exercise! Besides exercise, he also got fresh air while working outside!
Exercise can also prevent heart disease! A study conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health found that  running more than an hour a week decreased the risk of heart disease by 42 percent!  Walking 30 minutes a day reduced the risk by 18 percent!  ( from Amazing Health Magazine).

Obesity is common these days partly because people don't exercise! Exercise is very important to maintaining a healthy weight. At least 30 min. of aerobic exercise a day can help maintain or lose weight.

Exercise is another important way to stay healthy!

Nutrition is listed first in the lineup of the 8 laws of health. It is an important aspect to health, because as the saying goes, you are what you eat. That is a true statement . Thankfully,  God has  guidelines for our nutritional health.

Gen. 1:29 says: " And God said , Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is on the face of the earth, and every tree , in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed: to you it shall be for meat." The original diet  was fruit, nuts, and grains, and vegetables. Back then , we ate our fruits and vegetables! That was the ideal diet given to us in a perfect world. Shouldn't we eat the closest we can to the original diet, so we can be the healthiest we can?
Meat was eaten after the flood, but it was not in the original diet, therefore it is not the best choice.  In Leveticus 11,  God tells us the meats we can and cannot eat. I'm not going to go into it all right now, but read it for yourselves in Lev. 11.

Before sin , there were no animal products eaten,  and they are not the best things for our health now. Milk is meant for the baby calf, not for us! The only milk we are meant to have is breastmilk as babies. Milk, Eggs, Cheese, Meat, etc. were not apart of the original God-given diet. It would be best for us to go back as close as possible to the original diet given by GOD!!!!

The 8 laws of Health

It's time for Health Nuggets! I figured it was time for me to talk a little about health, first I'm going to give a layout of the 8 laws of Health .

The 8 laws of Health:

Trust in God

If you take the first letters of each of these things it spells: NEW START. It's important to take care of our bodies, because they are  the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor. 6: 19, 20 says: " What? Know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which in you, which ye have of  God, and ye are not your own? Therefore glorify God with your body and in your spirit , which are God's ."

Our bodies are not our own, they belong to God . He created them, therefore we should take care of them, so they can glorify their maker: God.

My next blog is going to be on Nutrition, then Exercise, Water, and so on.

May God bless you as you seek to follow HIM!

Trials , Tribulations,and Temptations

Going through Trials, Tribulations, and Temptations is certainly not fun. They are painful and very difficult! But they are necessary so that we can learn patience. The Bible in Romans 5:3 says "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulations worketh patience." kjv . ( king james version).

1 Peter 1:7 says: " That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ."  Our trials are like fire , they refine our characters so we may be ready when Jesus comes again!

There is a story about a young man who asked a goldsmith : "When do you know the gold is purified?" The goldsmith answered : "When I can see my reflection in it!"  Wow ! Jesus knows when our characters are purified, when He can see His reflection in us!

When you go through trials , remember: They are necessary to refine our characters, so we can be like Christ.

Prayer- God's Ultimate Cell Phone

Cell phones are a great invention. You can call someone up , no matter how far away you are from them, and carry on a conversation. Even if you are 3,000 miles away , you can call them , and talk to them instantly ( if they answer their phone of course). Prayer is a lot like that, but better! We can "call" God up anytime , anywhere, and talk to Him. God's Cell Phone is great! It never loses tower, it never runs out of minutes, and it's free! God is always there waiting to answer our "call" , but he never forces us to call. He longs with all of His heart to commune with us , talk with us, for us to share each and every sorrow, joy , or burden!  Psalm 6:9 says:
" The Lord hath heard my supplication, the Lord will receive my prayer." Will you give HIM a "call" today?

Good Morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!
Waking up each morning is a gift given to us by God! He wakes us up every morning so we can have yet another opportunity to form a relationship with Him! He blesses us each and every day, even if we don't realize it. Waking up is the first blessing we get from God each day!

Lamentations 3:22-23 says: " It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning : great is thy faithfulness."

His mercies are new every morning ! He is merciful to us by allowing us to have another day, another opportunity to form a relationship with Him! Will you form a relationship with God today?

Have a blessed day!
