As Christians, there are many things that we are called to do and be. We are to be different from non-believers in how we think and act. Today, as I was doing my devotions, I read a wonderful passage in Deuteronomy 6:5-9 (KJV):
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thine heart, and with all they soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart.
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
As it says in the first verse, Our top priority as Christians is to LOVE GOD FIRST & MOST. This means that our love for HIM exceeds anything else in the universe. It exceeds our love for family, friends, material things, pets, etc. GOD needs to be the center of every relationship we have. In the 2nd verse, HE tells us to keep HIS words in our hearts. He wants us to think of HIM and HIS love always, and be able to share the gospel with others. Not only do we need to love HIM and keep HIS commandments, but we need to teach others to do this as well. Talk about GOD all the time & Share your love for HIM. HE is so awesome & loving that we should be bursting with the desire to tell others about HIM!!
