Nutrition is listed first in the lineup of the 8 laws of health. It is an important aspect to health, because as the saying goes, you are what you eat. That is a true statement . Thankfully, God has guidelines for our nutritional health.
Gen. 1:29 says: " And God said , Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is on the face of the earth, and every tree , in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed: to you it shall be for meat." The original diet was fruit, nuts, and grains, and vegetables. Back then , we ate our fruits and vegetables! That was the ideal diet given to us in a perfect world. Shouldn't we eat the closest we can to the original diet, so we can be the healthiest we can?
Meat was eaten after the flood, but it was not in the original diet, therefore it is not the best choice. In Leveticus 11, God tells us the meats we can and cannot eat. I'm not going to go into it all right now, but read it for yourselves in Lev. 11.
Before sin , there were no animal products eaten, and they are not the best things for our health now. Milk is meant for the baby calf, not for us! The only milk we are meant to have is breastmilk as babies. Milk, Eggs, Cheese, Meat, etc. were not apart of the original God-given diet. It would be best for us to go back as close as possible to the original diet given by GOD!!!!
What does it mean by unclean in Leviticus 11?
ReplyDeleteIt means unfit to eat. The unclean animals mentioned are scavengers. We should not eat or touch their dead carcasses. God Bless!
